This image is still covered by copyright at the time of my action. Because of Wikipedia's usage license, (CC BY-SA 4.0), copyrighted images can only be used with a fair-use rationale and must follow Wikipedia:IMAGERES. The editor who created the enlarged image had a very good point in doing so. If they or any other editor recreates the image for the same purpose, the page I linked offers ways to get approval that an image of that detail is acceptable, and ways to let editors and admins know. However, a large, detailed image opens up the possibility of impinging on the commercial rights of the copyright holder. I removed the tag above for that reason. Removing it doesn't forbid a future graphist from creating the image, it just communicates that there's a very good reason to keep it small. Oona Wikiwalker (talk) 11:17, 17 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
- An option would be to remove the part in the article's image caption about the character designs in the letters, as the point is not that important anyway.--LaukkuTheGreit (Talk•Contribs) 13:10, 17 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
- @LaukkuTheGreit, there's a way to request the admins to review the large image you had uploaded and consider an exemption from the usual fair-use rationale. I've never done this before, but is it something you think is worth trying? I just don't want to shut you down after all the work you went to. Your "meh." in your edit summary got me. I'VE BEEN THERE, lol. Oona Wikiwalker (talk) 22:17, 17 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
