In grassy opening on slope forested mostly with Ashe Junipers, overlooking the valley of the Dry Frio River in northern Uvalde County, southwestern Texas, USA, on the southern border of the Edwards Plateau; elevation ~1750m (~5750 ft). The close-ups were made with a dissecting scope's light, using material from the grass photographed in habitat.
