English: El Parque Natural Regional Serranía de las Quinchas, se ubica sobre la margen derecha del río Magdalena, entre los municipios de Puerto Boyacá y Otanche. Esta serranía alberga unas de las más ricas biodiversidades del país. Posee el último relicto de selva húmeda tropical del Magdalena Centro, allí se encuentra el 0,71% de todas las especies de flora del planeta y por ello, es un importante sumidero de gases invernadero como el CO2.
En la serranía nace la hermosa quebrada de La Cristalina, cuyas aguas puras y transparentes irrigan por su paso a los imponentes cañones de ranura, tres imponentes túneles labrados por el paso del agua sobre la roca sedimentaria y que alberga el pasado geológico de los mares que inundaban estas tierras hace 65 millones de años. Además, cuenta con un gran número de cascadas y piscinas naturales; por lo cual, este lugar se constituye como el último lugar donde aún se le puede dar justicia hídrica al municipio de Puerto Boyacá. |
