Summary

Description

In this well preserved painted tomb relief scene of TT100 located at Sheikh Abd el-Qurna which contained the Tombs of the Nobles at Luxor, a surviving painted scene depicts the tomb owner Vizier Rekhmire sitting on a stool at right. He is shown inspecting at his feet three lines of registers of bakery, beekeeping and the transport of goods to the storehouses. This relief scene was taken from the left wall of the tomb passage or corridor of T100. Vizier Rekhmire served under king Thutmose III and Amenhotep II. Sadly, Vizier Rekhmire was never buried in his intended tomb and he likely he fell from favour and was deposed under king Amenhotep II. Many scenes of him or his family were erased from history as part of a damnatio memoriae campaign likely initiated by Amenhotep II.
