Summary

Description
English: Photograph of Price McKinney from about 1926, at the time of his death. Born near Cincinnati, Ohio, in modest circumstances, he married the daughter of Cleveland businessman Stevenson Burke. Burke named him receiver of the large iron ore dealing firm of Corrigan, Ives & Co.

When Franklin T. Ives was forced out, James Corrigan made McKinney his partner and the firm became Corrigan, McKinney & Co. It was the largest independent dealer of iron ore in the United States. In 1908, the company formed a subsidiary, Corrigan, McKinney Steel, which enriched McKinney ever further.

James Corrigan died in 1908. His son, James W. Corrigan, forced McKinney out of the steel business in 1925. Despondent, McKinney committed suicide in his home in Cleveland.
