DescriptionPenumbral eclipse of May 5, 2023 (52872471752).jpg
English: Penumbral eclipse of May 5, 2023 taken from Oria, Italy.
Here a sequence of shots with 300mm telephoto Tair-3S + Canon EOS 4000D at 200 ISO.
For work reasons, I was unable to catch the moon at sunrise but at about 10° above the horizon. In any case, the slight darkening towards the north can be seen, even if it is not in the maximum phase.
I kept the color exhibited by the Moon at the time of the shots, decidedly yellow due to atmospheric absorption.
- technique -
By neglecting its orbital motion, due to the effect of the earth's rotation equal to about 15 arcseconds per second, after 120 seconds the Moon, in the first approximation, will have apparently moved by an angle equal to its apparent diameter, i.e. about 1800 arcseconds (30'). Taking pictures with this interval and composing them, you get a sequence like this.
