This specific frame shows contours for the 700-hPa geopotential height, along with the integrated vapor transport and vectors of direction for the integrated vapor transport. Visible in the model run is Hurricane Melissa near Jamaica. The frame shows the moisture from Hurricane Melissa at the time was stretching into Panama, across most of the Caribbean and Caribbean Sea, and into southern Florida. According to El Medio, at least four people were killed in Panama from flooding influenced by Hurricane Melissa's moisture. |
