Summary
edit| Description |
Artists conception of an in-ground Mars Mass Human Habitation Structure where water (as ice) is supported in the roof to protect inhabitants from cosmic radiation and yet allow some natural light to pass through. Also shown here are night shutters to retain collected heat. Structure is shown here large enough to create a sense of "sky" above trees and houses. In-Ground location gives atmospheric pressure support from soil walls and floor, which is less expensive than other materials. |
