English: Mark Winter performs "Roller Palace", the very first roller disco record—debuting at the legendary Roll-A-Palace in Brooklyn, New York in 1979
The FIRST roller disco record from 1979
Written & Produced by Mark Winter
Before roller disco became a global phenomenon… there was Roller Palace.
Originally produced in 1979, “Roller Palace” is widely recognized as the very first roller disco record—debuting at the legendary Roll-A-Palace in Brooklyn, New York, where the movement began. The track quickly spread to roller rinks across the country and was featured at iconic events like WKTU’s roller parties, helping launch a nationwide craze.
Long before artists like Cher and films like Roller Boogie brought roller disco into the mainstream, this was the sound that started it all.
