The image was created to be freely distributed for the express purpose of promoting the commercial radio series whose host it depicts. There is no evidence that copyright notice was originally filed on the image, as then required for copyright protection.
A search of U.S. copyright renewal records reveals no evidence that Mutual Broadcasting System renewed copyrights to this image or any collection of images or any collection of material that might encompass this image as would have been required to maintain copyright protection, if any.
There is no evidence that CBS Corporation, the corporate heir to Mutual Broadcasting System, claims copyright on the image.
