English: (L-R), Messrs Higginsbottom, Hargreaves, Fox, Maudsley, Marsden, Grant, Anderson, Donavon, Stanley and Fair, members of The Lancashire Central Short Time Committee which apparently advocated for the 1850 Factories Act which supplemented the famous 'Ten-Hours Act' of 1847 restricting the work day for women and children to ten hours. Given to the NPG by Lord Harrowby 1957. Albumen photograph on card mount, arched top.
