English: Close-up of LED-backlit transparent wood panels in Goze Mokudon, a bench-shaped andon lantern installed in front of the Goze Museum Takada in Joetsu, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. The panels show visible wood grain while transmitting light. Scenes from the life of Takada goze, illuminated by backlighting LEDs, are expressed through pictorial panels made from transparent wood using sugi (Japanese cedar). The transparent wood panels are made from 3 mm-thick sugi, and some panels use colored transparent wood.
日本語: 新潟県上越市の瞽女ミュージアム高田前に設置された，ベンチ型の行灯「瞽女木行灯」に用いられた透明性木材パネルの近接写真。杉材による透明性木材のパネルには木目が見え，光を透過している。背面のLEDによって浮かび上がる高田瞽女の生活は，杉材を用いた透明性木材による絵画的なパネルとして表現されている。透明性木材パネルには厚さ3mmの杉材を用いており，一部に着色した透明性木材を使用している。 |
