Public domain This file is in the public domain because it comes from the Ohio Supplement to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices or the Ohio Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (OMUTCD), sign number M1-H6a. The supplement states on page OH-ii that:
If a Section, Table, or Figure from the MUTCD is not contained within this Supplement, the section in the Federal MUTCD shall remain unchanged.

The federal MUTCD states specifically on page 9 that:

Traffic control device design or application provisions contained in this Manual shall be in the public domain. Traffic control devices contained in this Manual shall not be protected by a patent, trademark, or copyright, except for the Interstate Shield, 511 Travel Information pictograph, National Scenic Byway graphic, and any items under the stewardship of or owned by FHWA.

The OMUTCD states specifically in its introduction, on page I-1, that:

Any traffic control device design or application provision contained in this Manual shall be considered to be in the public domain. Traffic control devices contained in this Manual shall not be protected by a patent, trademark, or copyright, except for the Interstate Shield and any items owned by FHWA.
