Summary

Description
English: The storm complex responsible for the January 1979 North American blizzard on January 13, 1979. This was taken using the VISSR imaging instrument onboard the GOES-2 geostationary satellite, the original image was taken in grayscale but was superimposed using NASA’s Blue Marble (2002) image through a digital editing software to give a “true-color” effect and make storm structure features easier to see and identify.
