Note 1: The letters short /e/, short /o/ and their diacritics are integral components of Dravidian languages, which Gondi belongs to. However, Gunjali Lipi, being descended from the northern Brahmi branch, lacks glyphs for these sounds. They will be added to the chart if they are incorporated in the future.
Note 2: Gunjala Gondi is one of three major scripts utilised for the Gondi language (alongside the Masaram Gondi, Balbodh and Telugu scripts). Modern indigenous educators leave the choice of script to the user's preference.
Note 3: The consonants of Gunjala Gondi are arranged in a unique native order, starting with the letter "ya" /j/, instead of the traditional /k/ for other Indic scripts.
Note 4: Similar to Modi, Gunjala Gondi is a cursive handwritten script with a practice of having one long Headstroke (𑵳𑵵 tala) connecting all the words in a line. This is distinct from other Nagari scripts, where the Headstroke is only limited to full letters or words.
