English: The Indonesian Youth Force (API) was a revolutionary struggle organization founded on September 1, 1945, by youth in Menteng 31, Jakarta, after the Proclamation of Independence. API played an active role in defending independence, organizing the people, and resisting the Dutch (NICA) and Allied forces, both in Java and elsewhere.
Founded by the Action Committee as an armed revolutionary youth movement. Mobilize military resistance, seize assets from the Japanese (such as railways), and organize the masses under the People's Front and the Workers' Front. Pesindo Association: API was one of seven youth organizations that merged to form Pesindo (Indonesian Socialist Youth). Initiated by revolutionary youth groups such as Menteng 31 (including Wikana and Yusuf Kunto).
