Summary

Description
English: This is a geographic map displaying the party affiliation of members of the United States House of Representatives through their respective districts. White districts represent vacant seats, and the region in black is the District of Columbia. The map was made using QGIS and Inkscape. The shapefiles were kindly published by the UCLA Department of Political Science, the state of New York, and the New Jersey Geographic Information Network. The hope is that this file continues to be overwritten with appropriate changes so that it can be an easy way to see what the state of the House was at any given time. I was surprised to see the Wikipedia page for the House did not have a map, and as far as I am aware, there isn't one like this on the Commons.

State borders are now thicker than district borders and vacant seats have a white outline alongside the black to differentiate them from lakes.
