Description	Prabhupada's Palace of Gold, New Vrindaban Hare Krishna community, near Moundsville, West Virginia. Crowned Prabhupada. This is a life-size murti (statue) of the Founder/Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, Inc., A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1896-1977), which was installed at Prabhupada's Palace of Gold, a memorial shrine, dedicated in September 1979 at the New Vrindaban Hare Krishna community in Marshall County, West Virginia. At first, the murti was dressed in the traditional saffron robes of a Hindu sannyasi, but on Christmas Day, 1980, the leader of the New Vrindaban community, Kirtanananda Swami Bhaktipada, had the murti dressed like a king, with gold crown, mace, tilak and velvet and satin royal garments. This, however, became a source of contention within the Hare Krishna movement, because Prabhupada had never worn garments in that style.
