Summary
edit| Description |
The Grand Hotel Bucharest is a 24-story 87 m (285 ft) high-rise five-star hotel situated near University Square, central Bucharest. Opened in 1971 as the Inter-Continental Bucharest, it is a city landmark. The hotel was renamed slightly in 2003, becoming the InterContinental Bucharest, when the chain was reorganized and dropped the hyphen from its name. In 2007 the hotel transitioned from a long-standing franchise agreement, to a management contract with the InterContinental Hotels Group. The hotel ceased to be managed by IHG on January 1, 2022, and was renamed "Grand Hotel Bucharest". It is set for an EUR 21 million renovation, scheduled for completion in 2024. |

editThe person who associated a work with this deed has dedicated the work to the public domain by waiving all of his or her rights to the work worldwide under copyright law, including all related and neighboring rights, to the extent allowed by law. You can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission.
The U.S. freedom of panorama, found at Sec. 120(a), allows photography and the distribution or public display of resulting images of architectural works that are found in or visible from public spaces. For more information, see c:Commons:Copyright rules by territory/United States#Freedom of panorama.

- Humanly habitable structures that are intended to be both permanent and stationary, such as houses and office buildings, and other permanent and stationary structures designed for human occupancy, including but not limited to churches, museums, gazebos, and garden pavilions. (CFR 202.11(b)(2))
- While this image is free in the United States and English Wikipedia only follows the U.S. copyright law, English Wikipedia readers from countries with no freedom of panorama are cautioned to not use this image in a way that may violate the economic rights of the architects who designed this work of architecture.
- The U.S. freedom of panorama does not extend to public artworks. This means images of such works must be treated as non-free (even if these contain uploaders' licensing) and must follow the relevant guidelines on non-free content, or be deleted otherwise, unless the works are in the public domain, or their presence is incidental.
Although this image is free under US copyright law and thus acceptable on the English Wikipedia, it is believed to be non-free in its home country. This image should not be transferred to Wikimedia Commons unless it can be proven that depictions of the architectural work are free in the country where the work is located, as Commons requires that images be free in the source country and in the United States.
