The river view is taken from the centre of this typical French rural town, set in a very pretty location, straddling the Dordogne river, just below the Lac de Bort Les Orgues, where the town owns a lovely castle (the chateau de Val) on a headland by a beach with summertime services. Above the town are the Orgues, from which it is named, large cliffs resembling (with a little imagination) organ pipes.
