Description

Bimla Badwal belongs to the Rongpa ethnic group and is a native speaker of Marcha dialect of the Rongpo language. She was photographed in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, in 2019 by Subhashish Panigrahi for the latter's documentary film MarginalizedAadhaar. The photograph, depicting Badwal in traditional Rongpa women's attire, was published as part of the OpenSpeaks Archives project in 2026.
