Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8)	This photo will be displayed at the top of the page in the infobox to demonstrate the conflict that took place during the Lowry War.
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1)	There are very few photos (if much any) from this time period of Robeson County (c.1865-1874). I have found no accurate public domain illustrations (not outright fictional) of the happenings of this conflict, unlike civil war battles. There is one alleged photo of Henry Berry Lowry, the man of led a faction in the eponymous "war", but its veracity is disputed. This appears to be the only photo indisputably tied to the events of the war.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3)	Single use
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2)	The photo is incredibly old - from the early 1870s. It was given over to a university for research purposes along with a collection of family papers and published online. Due to its age and its relation to such a niche topic, it is unlikely that it has much commercial value to its owner
