English: 9th Weather Reconnaissance Group emblem. Approved 19 March 1964. Significance: The fleur-de-lis is from the device of the Air Weather Service to which this group is subordinate. Atmospheric sampling and weather reconnaissance on a worldwide basis are represented by the globe and orbiting electrons between clouds and lightning. The recording function is represented by the quill pens.
