This was the home of Wilfrid Edgecombe (1871–1963), a consultant physician involved in the management of Harrogate Infirmary, and then Harrogate District Hospital, seeing it through its change from private to NHS hospital in 1948. He was also a spa doctor, and published works and lectures on the subject.
