Draft:St.John's Church, Pahalgam


St.John's Church in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, India is over a century old and is located on the road near JKTDC hutments just a kilometer away from the local bus stand. This beautiful quaint church also sometimes known as CNI Church Pahalgam is constructed of wood and has been the primary place of worship for Christians in this area from colonial times. It is locally taken care of by Tyndale Biscoe School, Srinagar. The church comes under the administration of the Diocese of Amritsar, Church of North India (CNI). The church also has a small cemetery with some burials from colonial and post colonial times. The church compound also has a social project known as the Lidder Valley Community Project which provides skill training to the local population from around 40 villages in Pahalgam.
