Sarah Goher is an Egyptian-American filmmaker, born and bred in the South Bronx.[1] An alumna of NYU TISCH, Sarah worked on CAIRO 678, CLASH, AMIRA, and Marvel Studios' MOONKNIGHT.

Her directorial debut, HAPPY BIRTHDAY premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Festival garnering top awards:Best International Feature, Best International Screenplay, and the Nora Ephron award for a distinguished female filmmaker.[2] The film went on to win the Audience Award at Mill Valley film festival, Best Performance at Mostra Sao Paulo, Cinema for Humanity Audience Award at El Gouna Film Festival, Grand Prize at Cine Mujeres Madrid, Grand Prize at Heartland film festival.[3][4][5][6][7]The film has been selected as Egypt's official foreign feature nomination for the 98th Academy Award.[8]

Variety Magazine listed her in their 10 directors to watch for 2026[9] list.[9]

Sarah holds a dual degree, cum laude from NYU in Film & Television and Economics.
