Draft:Magnús Maríuson

Magnús Maríuson (born 1993) is an Icelandic-Finnish actor, writer and producer. He is known for his roles in the independent films Adam (2018) and Bones and Names (2023).

Early life and education

Maríuson was born in Berlin, Germany, in 1993. He is of Icelandic and Finnish descent. [1] He studied acting at the Lahden Kansanopisto in Finland, and briefly at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).

Career

Maríuson began his film career with early appearances in European cinema, including a supporting role as Taanlane Carl in the Estonian war drama 1944 (2015), directed by Elmo Nüganen.

In 2018, he starred and co-produced Adam, a drama film directed by María Sólrún. Adam had its world premiere at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival in the Generation 14plus competition,[2] and went on to win the Best Feature Film Award at the Filmfest Kitzbühel.[3]

In 2023, he played the supporting lead role of Tim in Fabian Stumm's comedy-drama Bones and Names (Knochen und Namen), which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival.[4]

In addition to his film work, Maríuson has appeared in various television series. In 2022, he played the role of Peters in the third season of the war drama Das Boot. He has also appeared in the German crime series Tatort.
