Ghostbusters: Night Shift is an upcoming American animated supernatural comedy streaming television series created by Elliott Kalan and produced by Netflix Animation Studios, Sony Pictures Animation and Ghost Corps. It will be an entry in the Ghostbusters franchise. Kalan wrote the series, and serves as showrunner alongside Ben Hibon.
The series will be distributed by Netflix.

editAn animated streaming television series based on the Ghostbusters franchise produced by Netflix was announced in June 2022. The series will be produced by Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, both who produced Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021), as a production between Netflix Animation Studios, Sony Pictures Animation and Ghost Corps.[1] The series was greenlit by August 2024, with Elliott Kalan as writer and executive producer.[2] In June 2025, during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Ben Hibon was announced as executive producer and showrunner,[3] alongside Kalan.[4] The series' title, Ghostbusters: Night Shift, was announced in June 2026.[4]
Writing
editWriting for the series had began by March 2024.[5] The series will have a similar tone to Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024).[2]
Animation
editBy March 2024, development had started on the designs for the show's sets and environments.[5] Flying Bark Productions was announced to be providing animation for the series in April 2025.[6]
Release
editThe series is set to be previewed at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 24.[7]
