Anagrams formed in 2007 and consists of David Wheeldon (Vox, Lead Guitar), Ollie Elmes (Guitar), Chris Woolner (Bass) and Iain Worrall (Drums). They cite many references for their musical style including Spiritulaized, Pavement, Sparklehorse, Spacemen 3, The Velvet Underground, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead. All members have been in several bands previously. Iain Worrall played with Sonic Boom's Spectrum, touring Europe and the U.S. with the My Bloody Valentine support at the Roundhouse in Camden being the last shows before leaving. Iain also played in Fierce Panda band TV One, releasing The Third Wave in 1999.
Anagrams are currently recording their new E.P. finishing in August 2010 and will be self released. The band are currently looking for a label to call home.
"Rather intelligent, rather good alternative English indie rock, touches of Stone Roses in there with their falling Autumn leaves, touches of lots of things actually, mostly about good songs and refined sounds, a band with a little more depth and a touch of indie rock class to them, lot of body and soul to their guitar rock. They’re from Brighton and this early shot is well worth your time, sounds like someone should put this out as a single, they’re a little bit more than a demo band already, Saving Up is particularly good in a brooding broken hearted tearing up Elbow kind of way." - Organ Magazine.
